Are you the registered pilot or operator of a piston engine aircraft? If so, we want to hear from you!

CASA is launching a survey to determine the current level of knowledge within industry about the effects of carbon monoxide, and the frequency at which active detectors are used during flight.

The results of the survey will help determine where awareness can be boosted to enhance safe operating practices and avoid accidents attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning.

It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and answers will remain anonymous.

Carbon monoxide poisoning in a serious risk for pilots flying piston engine aircraft. The insidious gas can severely impair the cognitive functions of both pilots and passengers, and even cause complete incapacitation if ingested at high levels.

With your help, we can work towards increasing awareness so future accidents can be avoided.
