Android users are now able to store a digital copy of their remote pilot licence (RePL) on their devices, using Google Pay.
Previously, a digital licence could only be downloaded by iOS users with Apple Wallet.
Once downloaded, the licence can be verified through a QR code.
Storing an electronic copy of a RePL on a mobile device is a free, easy and convenient way to keep a licence handy.
If you’re a RePL holder, you must always carry your licence when operating a remotely piloted aircraft.
You can produce your digital licence when asked by an authorised representative of CASA or a member of the Australian Federal Police or state and territory police services.
To store a copy of your licence on your electronic device, sign into your myCASA account and choose the ‘download digital licence’ option.
