Description During landing, the left under carriage leg broke and the aircraft yawed to the right resulting in the left-wing tip and propeller hitting the ground. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.

Description The aircraft operating under VFR entered IMC and the pilot requested assistance from ATC. The pilot subsequently diverted to Mackay.

Description During descent, the burners were pointed backwards resulting in fire damage to the balloon fabric and the turning vent line.

Description During circuit training, the J160C was on climb and turning onto crosswind when the crew received a radio call from the 170 joining base. The 170 descended under the J160C to increase separation. No radio calls were heard from the 170 prior to the base call. It was later determined that the pilot of the 170 was initially broadcasting on the incorrect frequency.

Description During approach, the pilot did not extend the landing gear resulting in a wheels up landing and substantial damage to the aircraft. After the aircraft came to a stop, smoke was observed in the cockpit.

Description. During cruise, the helicopter’s engine lost power and the pilot made an autorotation. The engineering inspection revealed that the number three cylinder failed resulting in the loss of power.

Description During landing, the aircraft bounced twice, and the pilot applied power to do a go-around. During the application of power, the pilot received a stall warning and lost control of the aircraft, which subsequently crashed. The aircraft was destroyed.

Description The B200 entered the runway while the 310 was landing. Both aircraft manoeuvred to avoid a collision. The pilot of the 310 reported that the B200 crew made a taxiing CTAF broadcast for the non-active runway. The pilot of the B200 reported not hearing any radio calls on the CTAF.

Description During take-off, the aircraft veered to the left of the runway and hit trees once airborne. The aircraft was subsequently destroyed.

Description During approach, the crew observed an aircraft converging at the same level, approximately 10 metres away. No radio calls were heard from the other aircraft. The crew subsequently made a missed approach.

Description During aerial survey operations, the aircraft crashed. The two occupants were fatally injured, and the aircraft was destroyed. The investigation is continuing.

Description The helicopter landed hard and subsequently rolled onto its side resulting in substantial damage and minor injuries to one crew member.

Description During the training flight, the aircraft entered a dive which was recovered by the instructor. The post-flight inspection revealed damage to the starboard horizontal stabiliser.

  1. You seem to have missed C172 VH-UOR sometime in May at Moorabbin.
    It suffered a prop strike on a first solo. The student then did two more circuits before making a full stop. She then commented on the funny rudder pedal operation and the sloppy elevators, all the end products of a bent firewall.
    The aircraft suffered a prop strike, that needs a bulk strip and it has a bent firewall. The aircraft has been abandoned at Moorabbin airport. Nil post accident TLC.
    The student is reported to have had issues before being sent solo.
